Cell Phones and Privacy
When it comes to cell phones, I do think that all of them should be tracked. There is nothing unethical about being able to track a cell phone. The only people that are bothered by it are the ones that are doing something illegal, and that is why it is necessary. Since prepaid phones are not tracked by the government, it is true that criminals take advantage of that. I do not think that they should be banned completely because many people, such as my grandparents, use them for the right reasons. They are a low cost way for those who only use cell phones for emergencies to be able to have one. To avoid criminals being able to use them, I think that it makes sense to have the pre paid phones registered so that the can be tracked. This would not cause any harm to those using the pre paid phones in the right ways.

I agree when you say that the only people who are bothered with tracking of cell phones are the ones who are doing something illegal. Not everyone is doing something bad when it comes to using them, and those people who use them for the right reasons, shouldn't be punished. By forming some sort of system, such as having to register pre paid phones, there is more of a sense of security for the public. After saying that, I absolutely believe that cell phones should be tracked.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about how prepaid phones should not be banned completely because a lot people use them for good reasons. You said that your grandparents use them and my brother used one for his first phone. (They used them in good ways) I also agree with you that the phones should be able to be registered because then there would be no harm.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because exactly like you said the only people who would be bothered by being traced are those who's actions and use of the phone is questionable. Anyone who is using a prepaid phone for the intended use, convenience, should not be bothered by the sense of security.
ReplyDeleteI agree as well that if people are going to have prepaid cell phones for the right reasons, like they do not want to be part of a phone plan or cannot afford a plan, they would have no objections to registering their phones. The only ones with a reason to fear such things would be criminals, but they always have ways of getting around these things.
ReplyDeleteI agree also because nobody is affected by them tracking everyones cellphones. Anyone using a prepaid cellphone for the right reasons should not have a problem with this.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, even though we can track criminals easier and it wouldnt effect anyone using the phones properly. But its still an invasion of privacy which is becoming a big issue in todays society. Im sure many of the ones using the prepaid phones still would opt not to be tracked.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there is nothing unethical about being able to track a phone. If you are in fact bothered by someone tracking your phone, then you have something to hide. I also agree that prepaid phones are must less expensive and can be used for emergencies.
